Ryan ... if I happen to be in town for the Minneapolis WordCamp this year, I'm so making you go!! Although I'm now thinking of going to San Diego in July, and of course L.A. in Sept, which was also totally rad last year. Then there's the big one up in S.F. .... Oh man, this could start to get out of hand quickly. I may just have to convince some of of you Minneapolis people to go and report back. ; >

I keep hearing nothing but positive things about WordCamps. There was one in Minneapolis that I missed last fall (from where I hail) and I'm hoping they organize another! I'm also hoping they keep the open platform style to the gatherings and don't try to appeal solely to beginners nor gurus.

It's very well done, and although it only takes a couple hours to read, it has really had an impact on how I think about web design and development. Hardcore programmers and people who's tech skills max out at sending an email attachment all can get a lot of out of it. How many books can you say that about?!

I'll add this to my list! First I have to read Inbound Marketing and Seth Godin's Tribes - both pretty short.

I'm reading his new book right now: http://www.amazon.com/Rocket-Surgery-Made-Easy-Yourself/dp/0321657292
Since reading Krug, I usually call someone when the site is almost done and ask them to click around while I'm on the phone with them. It's always very informative, and it helps me really improve the site. It's the most low maintenance usability testing of all!
